Recently, Kunteng Tech (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., an enterprise in Chengdu Hi-tech Zone (hereinafter “Kunteng Tech”), completed full-process validation on a pilot platform for its 48V/45kW mild-hybrid integrated drive system, which will be delivered for use in stages. The company is located in Chengdu Future Science and Technology City, and the “birth” of this innovative product fills a gap in a related field in China.
First in China, with Broad Applications

The 48V/45kW mild-hybrid integrated drive system is China’s first low-voltage, high-power integrated mild-hybrid system in the 10 kW to 45 kW range, developed through deep cooperation between Kunteng Tech and several automakers. It is a high-power, low-voltage electric-assist “universal kit” that offers high safety, a compact size and cost savings.
The system can be widely used in traditional scenarios such as industrial vehicles, electric motorcycles and electric ships. At the same time, its low voltage, compact size and high power density make it suitable for emerging scenarios such as high-power robot joints, industrial drones and autonomous logistics vehicles.
How It Works
Power assistance: When equipment starts, climbs a slope or accelerates, the motor lends a hand, reducing the load on the engine, increasing power and saving fuel and electricity. The motor does not drive the equipment on its own; the engine remains the primary source of propulsion.
Self-charging: During deceleration and braking, kinetic energy can be recovered and converted into electricity stored in the battery for reuse, eliminating the need to plug in for charging.
Smaller size, lower cost: Compared with similar products, this system reduces material costs by approximately 30% and increases power density by 50%. For the same power output, the system is smaller and more economical, making installation more cost-effective for equipment manufacturers.
A relevant official of Kunteng Tech said, “The journey from an experimental prototype to a mature product that can enter a production line for industrial-scale manufacturing would not have been possible without our pilot platform for new-energy drive systems. Next, we will deliver this product to customers in stages.”
Pilot Testing Accelerates Mass Production

The system’s rapid transition from the laboratory to the production line was made possible by the support of Kunteng Tech’s pilot platform for new-energy drive systems (hereinafter “the platform”). The platform was completed and put into operation in December 2024. Built and operated by Kunteng Tech, it is the only pilot platform in China dedicated to multiphase, high-power drive systems. Kunteng Tech has reportedly obtained IATF 16949 quality-management-system certification and participated in drafting China’s first industry standard for 48V mild-hybrid systems for commercial vehicles, led by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, providing standardized technical support for the platform’s regulated full-process operation.
“The platform can provide full-chain engineering services for related products, shortening product development cycles by 30% to 50% and substantially reducing the cost of research and development trial and error. We also provide high-precision testing and reliability-validation services, mass-production introduction and small-batch trial production, and support rapid delivery of prototypes within 15 days,” said a relevant official of Kunteng Tech.

Kunteng Tech Pilot Platform for New-Energy Drive Systems
To date, Chengdu Future Science and Technology City has built 12 pilot platforms, including Kunteng Tech’s pilot platform for new-energy drive systems. These platforms have served 20 science and technology innovation teams and 26 startups in the Zone, and undertaken more than 100 pilot projects. They provide strong support for deeply implementing Chengdu’s strategy of “strengthening counties and invigorating districts” and advancing regional industrial upgrading and scientific and technological innovation.
