On May 15, the "Open and Intelligent Manufacturing, High-Quality Development" themed field visit of the 2026 Chengdu International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Development Conference was held at the Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park in Chengdu High-Tech Zone. Approximately 70 international delegates, including representatives from global friendship cities and international organizations, experienced firsthand the smart living and industrial vitality empowered by science, technology, and innovation.
At the Singapore-Sichuan International Reception Hall, the delegates gained a detailed understanding of the joint development process, current status, and future planning of the Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park. A unique "technological encounter" unfolded as they stepped into the Singapore-Sichuan Heart Robot Park.
As the first robot park in western China, its human-machine coexistence scenarios amazed the delegates. They enthusiastically interacted with dancing robots, following their rhythms, and engaged in "brainstorming" sessions with chess-playing robots at the board. Amidst the aroma of caramel, customized lattes with artistic foam, intricate sugar paintings, and cotton candy crafted by robots were delivered to the delegates within minutes. Merlyn Halkin, Director of the International Affairs Office of Managua, Nicaragua, couldn't wait to take photos after receiving her robot-made cotton candy.

At the "Future Noodle Bar," after placing orders via QR code, robots precisely executed the entire process of boiling noodles, adding ingredients, and serving. A steaming bowl of noodles was ready at the pickup counter in just three minutes.
The smart fitness mirror also attracted crowds who stopped to try it. Samo Logar, Deputy Mayor of Ljubljana, Slovenia, followed the on-screen instructions to perform exercises, personally experiencing the convenience and intelligence of AI-powered fitness. "There are also many young people in my city. I believe they would also find this fitness mirror interesting, allowing for easy workouts at home," he sincerely remarked, praising how the various smart devices in the Singapore-Sichuan Heart Robot Park empower daily life, making it more convenient and enjoyable.
Distinguished Professor Bao Hua Jia from RMIT University was full of praise for the park's intelligent robotic equipment. "It's simply amazing, especially seeing robots that can dance, interact with people, and do so many things. I just tried the automatic ice cream machine and inquired in detail about the equipment operation process and robot pricing. Labor is very expensive in Australia. I believe such equipment could have a huge market there, and I hope to have the opportunity to bring these robot projects to Australia," he said.
Within the park, the scenes of various service and operational robots working efficiently also left a deep impression on the delegates. Michael Lagos, Head of the Health Department of Nicosia, Cyprus, showed particular interest in drones used for plant pest and disease management, noting that they make agricultural management more efficient and easier, serving as a highly valuable reference.

The final stop of the visit was the Singapore-Sichuan Country-Specific Service Center. As the first foreign-related service center in a national-level park integrating "government affairs + industry + life" in China, it consolidates 349 foreign-related service items. It not only introduces entry-exit services, creating the province's first "one-window acceptance" model, truly realizing "handling park matters within the park," but also establishes six major platforms covering overseas trade services, cross-border finance, and more. It has attracted over 30 institutions, including the Singapore Chamber of Commerce & Industry in China, Alibaba.com, and DBS Bank, to set up offices.
Located within the Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park, the Singapore Innovation Centre serves as a crucial platform for deepening Singapore-Sichuan technological cooperation. It has attracted numerous international innovation enterprises and acts as a core engine for the internationalized development of the Singapore-Sichuan.
After hearing the introductions, many friendship city representatives showed strong interest. The on-site exchange atmosphere was lively, with numerous guests discussing potential future cooperation in areas such as two-way investment and technology transfer.
In fact, this is not the first time the Singapore-Sichuan has hosted inspection tours for the Friendship Cities Conference. In April 2025, 16 friendly delegations from countries including Germany, Italy, and Mexico had already visited the Singapore-Sichuan focusing on the theme of "High-Quality Development of Industrial (Country-Specific) Parks." This year, the park upgraded the inspection route by including the Country-Specific Service Center in the main itinerary, forming a complete chain of "planning cooperation → scenario experience → service ecosystem," precisely addressing the needs for implementing friendship city cooperation.
Being selected as an inspection site for the International Friendship Cities Conference for two consecutive years solidifies the Sino-Singapore Tianfu Singapore-Sichuan's status as a "benchmark for China-Singapore cooperation." Transitioning from "point-to-point exchanges" to "networked cooperation," and from "one-off receptions" to a "regular window," the Sino-Singapore Tianfu Singapore-Sichuan continues to build a model for open and intelligent manufacturing development, providing replicable practical experience for international friendship cities in industrial collaboration and intelligent manufacturing upgrades.
