Recently, the high-tech enterprise China Bluestar Chengrand Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CGCRI") has settled in Chengdu Tianfu International Bio-town. With its strong scientific research capabilities and quality industrial resources, it will establish a high-end silicone R&D and innovation base, which will help upgrade the regional medical device industry chain.
Founded in 1988, CGCRI is a secondary central enterprise in Sichuan under the Fortune Global 500 company Sinochem Holdings (hereinafter referred to as "Sinochem Holdings"), and a leading domestic chemical new material service provider. Since its establishment, the company has undertaken more than 800 national-level projects, including the National "863" High-Tech Program and National Key Technology R&D Programs, achieving over 500 scientific and technological achievements.

Sinochem Holdings is a world-leading comprehensive chemical enterprise, with core businesses spanning eight major sectors including Life Science, Material Science, Basic Chemicals, and Environmental Science. It holds leading positions in specific segments such as agrochemicals and animal nutrition within Life Science, and Material Science.
Choosing Bio-town as the Destination
Establishing a High-End Silicone R&D and Innovation Base
CGCRI focuses on the R&D of chemical new materials such as silicone and special fluorine materials, specialty organic fibers, modified plastics and additives, resins and composites. It provides comprehensive supporting services including engineering research and EPC, analysis and testing, and information services. Its silicone material R&D holds a leading position in the industry.
Silicone materials, known as the "vitamins of industry," are widely used in the medical and health fields. Their outstanding advantages make them ideal materials for this sector—they not only possess excellent biocompatibility, causing no immune rejection reaction or irritation/damage to human tissues upon entering the body, but also offer good breathability, flexibility, and resilience. They are resistant to UV rays, high and low temperatures, and aging, and can withstand various sterilization methods such as high-temperature steam, ultraviolet light, and chemical disinfectants while maintaining stable performance post-sterilization.

Leveraging its own strengths in scientific research, talent, and resources, CGCRI plans to invest in and construct the Sinochem Holdings Silicone Research Institute R&D and Innovation Base project in Chengdu Tianfu International Bio-town. The project will focus on establishing the Sinochem Silicone Research Institute's Silicone Rubber Material Technology Center and Silicone Key Auxiliary Materials Technology Center, concentrating on the R&D, application, and technology transfer of high-end silicone technologies and products.
In the health and medical field, the project will delve into the R&D of specific categories such as silicone balloon infusion pump materials, silicone skin adhesives, silicone dental impression materials, medical device-grade silicones, and silicones for long-term implantation. This aims to precisely meet the needs of Bio-town's medical device industry and fill the gap in regional R&D for high-end medical-grade silicone raw materials. As an upstream raw material industry for medical devices, this project will create a complete chain from laboratory R&D to industrial application of silicone materials, providing downstream medical device enterprises with high-quality, high-performance core supply of core raw materials.
Empowering Bio-town
Driving High-Quality Development of the Industry Chain
Upon completion, the Silicone Research Institute aims to achieve a leading domestic position in high-end silicone materials and rank among the world's first tier in some niche markets by 2028.
This settlement will empower the high-quality development of Bio-town in three aspects: First, extending the medical device industry chain, filling the gap in high-end medical silicone raw materials, building a complete industrial chain, and solving "bottleneck" challenges for downstream enterprises. Second, aggregating high-end innovation resources and talent, leveraging national-level scientific research platforms to attract upstream and downstream enterprises, improving the industrial ecosystem, and promoting collaborative innovation in "industry-university-research-application." Third, deepening central-local cooperation, driving synergistic development across sectors like medical health, biological breeding, and chemical new materials, helping Bio-town build distinctive benchmarks, and enhancing the region's industrial influence nationwide.

Currently, Chengdu Tianfu International Bio-town is targeting 4 key sectors and 18 key tracks, providing professional supporting facilities that integrate "nursery, incubation, R&D, and pilot-scale testing" for biopharmaceutical enterprises. According to the different growth stages of enterprises, the park provides differentiated, full-chain "companionship-style" enterprise services. This is also one of the important reasons why enterprises and projects continuously choose to settle here. Tianfu International Bio-town will also take this project launch as an opportunity to focus on high-end silicone technology and jointly build an industrial innovation highland with the enterprise.
